It's Coming. Be Ready.

Quite a fitting going away gift from Mother Nature and the coast of California. Just as I'm in the process of packing up all my stuff for my move to the Right Coast, a huge south is headed our direction. I emphasize huge. They're calling for it to be the biggest surf the U.S. Open of Surfing has seen. For the rest of us, it should be big enough to keep the fareweather surfers at bay, which hopefully means manageable crowds. But in California, that's all relative. It'll still be a madhouse wherever you go in Orange County. So, you have two days. The swell should start showing on Thursday and stay solid through Sunday.

Best of luck finding some undisclosed nook in the coast and getting a few good ones. This looks to be the swell of the season, so you should probably plan on calling in sick.

Enjoy.

of all the times i decided to skip the US Open of Surf and head home to the philippines islands for a wedding...

anyway, at least i stayed true to my curse... "whenever dimo leaves the OC, the waves come..."

maybe we should start a "send dimo on vacation" fund, evertime we go dry for waves. haha
